Default NMR and semi-synthesis in synergy to study protein regulation

NMR and semi-synthesis in synergy to study protein regulation

Structural biology as a field has advanced immensely in the last few years, but the mechanistic roles of protein disordered regions and their associated post-translational modifications on the molecular level are still poorly understood. Nuclear magnetic resonance offers the possibility to investigate these regions with atomic resolution and understand the effect of protein modification, and thus protein regulation. However, obtaining suitable and well-defined samples is not straightforward....

[NMR paper] 1H-NMR-Based Metabonomics Study to Reveal the Progressive Metabolism Regulation of SAP Deficiency on ApoE-/- Mice
1H-NMR-Based Metabonomics Study to Reveal the Progressive Metabolism Regulation of SAP Deficiency on ApoE-/- Mice Atherosclerosis is the most common disease of the vascular system and the metabolic disorder is one of its important molecular mechanisms. SAP protein is found to be highly expressed in atherosclerotic blood vessels. Our previous study found that SAP deficiency can significantly inhibit the development of atherosclerosis. However, the regulatory effect of SAP deficiency on AS metabolism is unknown. Based on ¹H-NMR metabonomics, this study investigated the serum metabolic...
