Default Measuring radiofrequency fields in NMR spectroscopy using offset-dependent nutation profiles

Measuring radiofrequency fields in NMR spectroscopy using offset-dependent nutation profiles

The application of NMR spectroscopy for studying molecular and reaction dynamics relies crucially on the measurement of the magnitude of radiofrequency (RF) fields that are used to nutate or lock the nuclear magnetization. Here, we report a method for measuring RF field amplitudes that leverages the intrinsic modulations observed in offset-dependent NMR nutation profiles of small molecules. Such nutation profiles are exquisitely sensitive to the magnitude of the RF field, and B(1) values ranging...

[NMR paper] Radiofrequency fields in MAS solid state NMR probes.
Radiofrequency fields in MAS solid state NMR probes. Radiofrequency fields in MAS solid state NMR probes. J Magn Reson. 2017 Sep 06;284:20-32 Authors: Tošner Z, Purea A, Struppe JO, Wegner S, Engelke F, Glaser SJ, Reif B Abstract We present a detailed analysis of the radiofrequency (RF) field over full volume of a rotor that is generated in a solenoid coil. On top of the usually considered static distribution of amplitudes along the coil axis we describe dynamic radial RF inhomogeneities induced by sample rotation. During...

A 15N CPMG relaxation dispersion experiment more resistant to resonance offset and pulse imperfection Publication date: Available online 21 May 2015 Source:Journal of Magnetic Resonance
Author(s): Bin Jiang , Binhan Yu , Xu Zhang , Maili Liu , Daiwen Yang
Carr-Purcell Meiboom-Gill (CPMG) relaxation dispersion is a powerful NMR method to study protein dynamics on the microsecond-millisecond time scale. J-coupling, resonance offset and pulse imperfection often introduce systematic errors into the measured transverse relaxation rates. Here we proposed a...
