Default Postdoctoral Position - University of Maryland, College Park

Postdoctoral Position
University of Maryland

Postdoctoral position is available immediately in the group of Dr. Vitali Tugarinov at the Dept. of Chemistry & Biochemistry, University of Maryland, College Park (http://www.chem.umd.edu/faculty/tugarinov/index.html).
Candidates should preferably have experience in one or several of the following areas: biomolecular NMR spectroscopy, protein NMR methodology, protein (bio)chemistry, molecular modeling/structure calculations. The dedicated biomolecular NMR facility in the Center of Biomolecular Structure and Organization features two 600 MHz instruments (one cryo-probed) and the adjacent laboratory is fully equipped for protein expression and sample preparation. Access to higher field instrumentation at nearby universities is possible. University of Maryland-CP is situated in close proximity to Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Maryland's I-270 Technology Corridor with an easy access to vast research resources and facilities, including those of the NIH, FDA, USDA and NIST. Applicants may e-mail their CV to vitali@umd.edu or call 301-405-1504.

postdoctoral position King's College A postdoctoral position supported by the King's College London British Heart Foundation Centre of Excellence is available at King's College London in the field of ROS biology. The project is a collaborative effort amongst the groups of Prof Ajay Shah MD (Cardiovascular Division, King's College London), Dr Conte and Dr Steiner (Randall Division of Cell and Molecular Biophysics, King's College London) aimed at elucidating the molecular mechanism of controlled ROS production in higher organisms. The project is highly interdisciplinary and will combine...

http://www.chem.umd.edu/files/chem/images/faculty_bios/vitali.gif Link to the lab website. Research The research in our laboratory focuses on the studies of high-molecular-weight proteins and supra-molecular complexes in solution by NMR techniques. Solution-based techniques allow the studies of proteins at nearly physiological conditions without need for crystallization. Large proteins and supra-molecular complexes are especially challenging objects for NMR applications because of inherently low sensitivity coupled with high complexity of obtained NMR data. Significant progress in...
