Postdoctoral Fellow in Protein NMR and Biophysics

The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences is seeking applicants for a full time postdoctoral fellow in Protein NMR and Biophysics in the laboratory of Dr. Krishna Mallela. Current projects include probing molecular mechanisms of disease trigger and control, in particular cancer and inflammation, muscle and protein misfolding diseases using various structural and biophysical methods. Techniques like multi-dimensional NMR, biomolecular spectroscopy, protein expression and purification are routinely used in the laboratory. The successful applicant will also contribute to the preparation of research publications and laboratory administration, and will be given ample time for their career development.
The applicant must have a Ph.D. degree in biophysics, biochemistry, molecular biology, biophysical chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or a related field. Candidates who are motivated to work independently, possess effective communication skills, and are proficient in the research techniques listed above, in particular NMR, are highly desirable. Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications.
