postdoctoral position in NMR/diffusion

A postdoctoral position in NMR/diffusion in nanoporous materials is available immediately at the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville. The research will involve combined application of hyperpolarized NMR and pulsed field gradient (PFG) NMR to study diffusion and related phenomena in materials with one-dimensional nanochannels. This project is a collaboration between Prof. Clifford R Bowers (www.chem.ufl.edu/~bowers/) and Prof. Sergey Vasenkov (www.che.ufl.edu/faculty/vasenkov/). The successful candidate will benefit from access to the resources of the National High Magnetic Field Lab (magnet.fsu.edu), including the AMRIS facility in Gainesville, FL. In particular, the 750 MHz PFG NMR spectrometer located in AMRIS is available to perform diffusion studies with ultra-high gradients at the highest magnetic field in the USA for this type of application.

Position: Funding for this postdoctoral position is provided by the National Science Foundation. The initial appointment will be in the UF Chemistry Department for a period of one year with a possibility for renewal for an additional year or two years.
Qualifications: The successful candidate should hold a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in chemistry, physics, chemical engineering or a related field. Significant prior experience with hyperpolarized NMR, diffusion NMR, or solid-state NMR is a requirement. An ability to learn new NMR techniques, high motivation, a strong publication record and fluency in English are expected.
